Horrifically, innocent Ugandan children have become the victims and weapons at the center of one of Africa’s longest running wars. These children have been raped, tortured, mutilated, drugged and enslaved in service to the guerilla militia known as Lord’s Resistant Army (LRA).

NFL players Mark Clayton, Tommie Harris, Adrian Peterson and Roy Williams, along with a team of Oklahoma City medical professionals and business leaders will journey to Uganda, Africa in the March 2010 to bring hope and healing to former child soldiers who have been displaced by the war and are being cared for by Sister Rosemary and the St. Monica’s Tailoring School.

Sister Rosemary has witnessed the massive Uganda crisis firsthand. In response to the need, the school she leads, St. Monica’s Tailoring School, now seeks to restore the lives of these innocent children, orphans and AIDS victims. The school also offers “child mothers” a safe haven where practical life skills are taught allowing students to feed their children, gain jobs and rebuild their lives.

Pros for Africa is a cooperative effort through the Whitten-Newman Foundation, GiANT Experiences, Feed the Children, Water4Foundation and professional athletes to join Sister Rosemary and the St. Monica’s Tailoring School in support of a truly revolutionary initiative to revive Uganda, Africa by bringing hope to the hopeless and healing to the wounded children of war.
