Left in the dust

Do you ever feel like you have been left behind?

Despite all of your hard work, regardless of trying to do your best and with no regard to the time and effort you have put into the cause, do you ever feel like you were overlooked, under estimated or even left in the dust!

Maybe the timing was off, perhaps the best candidate did win, prejudice or favoritism may have crept into the mix. It doesn’t really matter. Bottom line, you were left out, didn’t make the cut, duped and left holding the bag.

Being left in the dust can give way to self doubt, discouragement, anger, resentment and flat out rage!

At times life isn’t fair and certainly not always easy to understand. We often think, “How in the world did that guy get recognized, selected, chosen, nominated, appointed and given the opportunity?”

Was it something I said? Something I did or didn’t do? Was I misunderstood? What if I would have tried harder, stayed longer or cared more? Would I have been the chosen one?

Maybe. Maybe not. The key is to learn what you can from the circumstance, congratulate the victor and move on trusting the one who knows you best has a plan for your life.

You are uniquely made and gifted. The plans he has for you may in fact require that you be left in the dust in order for you to be right where he needs you for your big opportunity. Rejection might just be protection!

When life hands you a no, let it go! While you may not know until the dust clears, it will clear and you are very likely to be right where you were meant to be! Ready to take advantage of an even better opportunity perfectly suited for the you, you want to be!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NLT)
