Radical life-building principles

As you may recall, Jesus was a carpentar and he continues to challenge building codes even today. Jesus was a radical builder!

Can you imagine what would happen if each of us and our nations followed the principles of Jesus found in Luke 6:27-48 for 90 days?

What might happen if we did as Jesus instructed?

Love your enemies.

Do good to those who hate you.

Bless those who curse you.

Pray for those who hurt you.

Give to anyone who asks.

Do to others as you would like them to do to you.

Be compassionate.

Do not judge others.

Do not condemn others.

Forgive others.

First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye.

A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. A tree is identified by its fruit.

A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart.

What you say flows from what is in your heart.

Why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say?

When someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it, it is like a person building a house who digs deep and lays the foundation on solid rock.

When the floodwaters rise and break against that house, it stands firm because it is well built.

Have we been given the keys to success years ago and yet some how continue to look for answers among ourselves as we build with inferior building materials?

What a powerful challenge Jesus presents!

Dare I say, no, need I say, the firm foundation for life and and living is found among these simple words of Jesus of Nazareth?

May it be said again and again until we come to realize the truth, the way and the life is found through Him alone.

What might the next 90 days look like if we all committed to live it out and build our lives on these radical life-building principles?
